“ ...looking back, I realize what a good experience I had at Camp Tyler. I never knew what camp was. At Camp Tyler I learned more about friendship than anything else. I not only got to go to camp with everyone else, some of the people I met there ended up being friends for life.”

.Since 1949, Volunteers have helped Camp Tyler and its campers grow and blossom. Without the dedication of the volunteers over the years, the Camp Tyler mission would not be possible.
We owe so much to the men and women who give of their time, energy and hearts. Many
of the young campers who have attended Camp Tyler and whose lives were touched and enhanced by the experience have returned to pay back that love by becoming volunteers themselves.
Ask any volunteer and they will tell you the same thing. " I don't know who gets more out of it, me or them.”
It is a win-win situation. As a volunteer you have the chance to give back and make a difference in the life of a child. We never truly know the impact that we have on those around us and sometimes all it takes is one small gesture of kindness.
Camp Tyler Foundation also hosts special camps every year like the Texas Asthma Camp for Kids, Camp Quality for children with cancer, Camp Heyday for people with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities, the Growing Together Diabetes Camp and many more.

The Junior Volunteer Program has been a huge success.
We have over 20 kids ages 10 to 17 that really made a difference at Camp Tyler last summer.
They worked as farm hands at the Camp Tyler farm, helping with the horse program. Some have received training on the nature trail and office procedures. They set the bar very high for our senior volunteers and we are blessed to have them.
The number of Junior Volunteers keeps growing.
