Funding

Or... Download the Camp Tyler Pledge Form and mail a check to Camp Tyler Foundation, P.O. Box 1916, Whitehouse, Texas 75791.
If you are interested in having someone contact you about Legacy Giving, please contact the Exectutive Director, Alan Byboth, at (903)262-1269 or alan@camptyler.org.
You may direct your contribution to the Annual Campaign, the Capital Campaign, the Camp Tyler Endowment, or to a specific purpose.
The Annual Campaign is our source for unrestricted donations. These funds help with expenses related to operating the camp. The Annual Campaign money is important as it largely determines how many youth we can serve in a given year. The 2007-2008 goal for the campaign is $150,000.
Capital Campaign donations are restricted and can only used for capital improvements. Plans for capital improvements include two additional dormitories, a Visitors’ Center, three multiuse pavilions, renovation of existing cabins, and new/enhanced natural features.
The total estimated need is $3.1 million. Naming privileges will be awarded for appropriate contributions to some parts of this development.
The Camp Tyler Foundation Endowment is a new source of perpetual support for Camp Tyler. Funds placed in this fund are invested. Interest earned form this fund is used to contribute to the camp’s operating budget.
Restricted donations may be directed to almost any purpose the donor chooses to specify. If you have certain criteria in mind for your giving please call the Executive Director, Alan Byboth at (903) 262-1269 to discuss current or anticipated needs of the camp that might fit.
The Camp Tyler Foundation is a nonprofit, private foundation within the meaning of section 509(a) of the internal Revenue Code, exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c)(3). This exemption was granted in July 1951 and remains in full force and effect. Contributions to the Camp Tyler Foundation are deductable in the manner and to the extent provided by section 170 of the code. Please contact the Alan Byboth, the Executive Director for Camp Tyler Foundation financial information.
Volunteering
There are a multitude of volunteer opportunities at Camp Tyler. The Camp Tyler Volunteer Program is designed to meet the needs of the contributor as well as the needs of the organization. Our desire is for it to be a unique and rewarding experience for all involved. Not only will you feel good for contributing your time to the benefit of children but you will learn new things, make new friends and have fun. The camp is a diverse and dynamic place. We have a wide variety of volunteer jobs. You can work outside or in, with children or away from children, with others or alone. Schedules are very flexible. Please call (903) 262-1269 to arrange a visit with Rodd, our Director of Volunteer Services and tour the camp. You may also email us at volunteer@ camptyler.org.
In-Kind Contributions
Most of the buildings and other improvements at Camp Tyler were built with donated materials and donated labor. Contributions of things other than money are considered in-kind. Such donations are tax deductible as described in the Internal Revenue Code Section 170.
If you have something that you think we could make good use of please give us a call. (903) 262-1269. If we agree that there is a fit, we will be happy come after it and provide you with the appropriate documentation for your tax records. Because storage space at the camp is limited, we cannot accept everything that is offered. If you offer something that we know we cannot use we will try to suggest another nonprofit in the community that can use it. Our policies will not allow us to accept potentially hazardous materials including paints, solvents, pesticides and herbicides.
